Santa Anita race track is always a nice place to visit if you want a calming view of the mountains with a little excitement of the casino. Some of the most fun days are those with extra events such as beer tasting or bbq events. There is good shade from the sun during the hotter months as well. You can get a members card to make use of special promotional items and events.
We love Santa Anita. It almost transports you back in time. It is the perfect escape. We love low-key days, it is our favorite place to hang out, place some bets just for fun, walk around, see some beautiful animals and amazing athletes, and just escape life. Wish we lived closer, but it's so special when we do get a chance to spend the day there. The staff is always fun and inviting, and you can find some really great food if you do some upgrading - and it's worth it. Really great place. If you have never been, don't be shy, give it a try, ask people for help if you aren't sure how to bet, it is super affordable, you'll be very surprised, and you will have a blast and you'll be hooked on this place in no time.
Went for 626 Night Market. It's a summer food festival held at Santa Anita. The number of food choices was overwhelming, in a good way. A lot of cool variations on Asian fusion cuisine. There were also a small number of vendors serving non-Asian food choices too. It's grown a lot since the beginning. There's non-food vendors there and even live music and dancing.
This is the venue for the 626 Markets every Summer. Race horses aren't my thing but I came here once for the 626 Market. It was late Summer and evening but still HOT AS HADES. The space was very large and the walkways nicely decorated. Didn't venture inside the track/center. Ample parking. Conveniently located from the HUGE Westfield mall. Guess that's how people spend their winnings.
First class operation. The free parking and infield admission is a step in the right direction. Easy to bet with the many wagering terminals. Love the closeup vantage points while the horses are preparing to saddle up. Plenty of shade on warm days.
